“Cry havoc, and let slip the dogs of war.”
This phrase, delivered by Mark Antony in Shakespeare’s ‘Julius Caesar,’ refers to unleashing chaos and violence following a call to arms.
Trump’s Message to Iran: America Has Had Enough
On February 28, President Donald J. Trump did just that. He told the fanatical Islamist regime in Iran that America has had enough. We will no longer allow the terrorist leaders of Iran to act with impunity, as they have done through seven U.S. presidents over forty-seven years. We have let slip the dogs of war, and the Iranian regime is being dealt a crushing blow.
Overwhelming Force and National Resolve in the Age of Trump
There is a lesson to be learned here by any of America’s enemies. In the age of Trump, we will unleash overwhelming force on any country that dares to test our resolve. After twenty years of war, our military has been tested under fire, and we have emerged hardened and sharpened to a fine edge. We are no longer the “paper tiger” that Iran once perceived us to be.
Our enemies would do well to understand that the days of Barack Obama and Joe Biden are over. A warrior ethos has returned.
Discipline and Readiness: The Standard Is the Mission
As Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has recently articulated, discipline and readiness are once again the defining characteristics of our armed forces.
They have been reinforced by warriors—men and women who embody strength, resilience, and commitment to mission above all else. Across our Armed Forces, standards have been raised. From enlisted personnel to senior leadership, expectations are clear: meet the physical and mental demands of service or step aside. Mission success depends on men and women in uniform who can endure the realities of prolonged conflict. Victory demands it.
Zero Tolerance for Politics Above Duty
We are already seeing the results of this shift in mentality within just over a year. Secretary Hegseth, along with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine, have made it clear that there will be zero tolerance for those who place politics above duty. Members of the military may hold personal political views, but they must leave them outside the uniform.
The American people spoke clearly. They rejected the idea of social experimentation within the military. They demanded a lean, disciplined, and highly capable fighting force—ready, willing, and able to defend the nation against increasingly emboldened adversaries.
There should be no doubt: our enemies are witnessing firsthand the renewed strength and resolve of the United States Armed Forces. With firm leadership at the Pentagon and in the White House, the commitment of those who serve is once again unmistakable.
As a result, our adversaries are reevaluating any plans to test America’s resolve. Unlike previous moments when warnings lacked follow-through, the current posture requires few words.
Our actions speak loudly—and clearly—on their own.
